P.General dropped his mixtape “The Bush Kept Secret” (the purple haze edition) in April 2011. P.General was born Ryan A.Stanton in Barbados on November 24,1977 and immigrated to the United States in 1980 at the tender age of 3.
His oldest brother, now deceased and with whom Ryan shared a special bond, was a Disc Jockey. Although 10 years Ryan’s senior, he seldom went anywhere without Ryan by his side who could always be found assisting on the turntables at many social gatherings.
Ryan was therefore exposed to all kinds of music at a very early age and in 2007 he showed an interest in writing lyrics to hip hop beats. This led to his overall passion in becoming a hip hop artist.
For a few years, Ryan composed lyrics which he never shared with anyone and then in 2009 he decided to take the plunge into the rap music scene and dubbed himself P.General.
